In general, oligoarthritis is kept well controlled by relatively lenient treatment. Conversely, serious forms, almost as disabling as rheumatoid arthritis, are not exceptional and require emergency treatment. Systemic complications observed in the course of rheumatoid arthritis, such as pulmonary fibrosis, aortic insufficiency and atrioventricular blocks make their appearance later on and are rarely observed. Cases of secondary amyloidosis have been observed in severe psoriatic arthritis, with a severe and prolonged inflammatory syndrome. Finally, uveitis may be associated with psoriatic arthritis. In this case, the attack is axial with the presence of the HLA B27 group.
